A note on transcriptions

We've provided 3 kinds of transcriptions of original documents.

  1. Original Transcript – as the original document was written, with Tudor spellings and all
  2. Transcript in Modern English – changed from Latin or the Tudor style of English into modern English
  3. Simple Transcript – simplified for children, with an easier vocabulary and summarising of longer passages

The transcripts have some notations.
[]
Square brackets indicate words that weren't in the original document, added by us to make sentences understandable or to explain Tudor words or to add background information.

Dots indicate sections where there is more in the original document but we haven't transcribed it.
